McDonnell Douglas KDC-10 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force, T-235 "Jan Scheffer", at the end of changeable autumn day at Eindhoven Air Base.
The 3-engine KDC-10 is a tank and transport aircraft based on a DC-10. The first KDC-10s entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1995.
Besides carrying cargo and passengers, the KDC-10 can refuel other aircraft such as F-16 fighters in the air. Refueling takes place through a meter long tank tube at the back of the aircraft where an operator maneuvers the tube into the right position by means of joysticks.
