Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.

About ‘Man-made transience’ by Maik Weidemann

With my hand-painted acrylic painting ‘Man-Made Transience’, I have created a visual memorial to a fascinating creature that has disappeared from our planet due to human influence: the thylacine. Measuring 40 x 50 cm, the work captures the animal’s piercing, almost melancholic gaze. The deliberate absence of colour and the focus on monochrome shades of grey create a timeless, ghostly atmosphere that brings the theme of extinction to life. The distinctive stripes and the fine fur textures have been rendered in rich detail using acrylics. A profound, one-of-a-kind piece that inspires reflection.
