Botanical garden, inside, at the Central Station of Madrid.
The station was opened on February 9, 1851 as the first station of Madrid. At that time it had the name Estación de Mediodía. After a major fire the station was largely destroyed. In 1892 it was reopened, after repairs.
In 1992 the old station was renovated and space was created for retailers and shops. In the main hall a space was created for tropical plants and a pond.
Trains have been running since then from the new, modern terminal designed by Rafael Moneo.
Once started as 'car spotting', taking your camera out on the street to find nice cars and take pictures of them. It has grown into a big hobby.
