Tips for use

About ‘MAKING MY FOOTPRINT’ by db Waterman

A girl makes new footprints in the wet sand on the beach. She wants to leave her trail but notices that it keeps disappearing because of the seawater.
Doing so, she realizes, it will take a lot of effort, to leave a lasting impact. But she is ready to start....

Kids inspire me. Their ability to transcend any given rotten situation is astounding. Playing tag in the ruins of a bombed Syrian city. Playing football in the most miserable neighborhoods. They are always looking for the light. They will save the future that our generations have really messed up, not even blaming us for it. If we only could keep the kid in ourselves a bit more, we wouldn’t be in such a mess. Art can help us to re-find our childlike innocence

I assemble original photography, assorted papers, acrylics, oil, charcoal, ink, and pencil in my works.

Thirteen years ago, I resumed my work as an artist. I started out without a budget for expensive paint or large canvases. Instead, I used old leftover paint, worn-out newspapers and magazines. This formed the basis of my first collages.
