Lost History in Arctic Greenland

Deep in East Greenland, near the abandoned village of Ikateq, lie the silent remains of Bluie East Two, a US World War II air base. This site, once a strategic hub along the North Atlantic route, is now an open-air museum of past glory. Rusty vehicles, abandoned buildings and worn-out machinery bear witness to a time when the Arctic cold was braved by thousands of soldiers and airmen.

Greenland's rugged, untouched nature contrasts beautifully with the human traces slowly swallowed up by time and weather. Photography here captures not only the tangible history, but also the melancholy and power of a place where nature ultimately dominates everything.

This photograph captures the mystery of a forgotten past and Greenland's overwhelming landscape. Ideal for lovers of history, abandoned locations and the unique Arctic light.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
