San Francisco has the Golden Gate, New York City has the Brooklyn Bridge. Both very recognizable to their respective cities and both also very different in construction and architecture.
This bridge is always hugely crowded, unless you go very early, so it's hard to get the bridge up there in all its glory without tourists and locals.
From this angle, however, it certainly succeeds and thanks to the line play of the cables, you get a strong sense of symmetry. This creates a sense of robustness and calm.
