The picture shows a majestic leopard in a calm pose on a tree. The light is soft and subtle, highlighted by the natural colour tones of the leopard's fur, which is in focus with its golden and black spots. The background is blurred, drawing attention to the details and texture of the animal. The main motif is perfectly centred and emphasises the elegance of the leopard.

The leopard is a master of camouflage and dexterity and its position on the tree emphasises its ability to adapt and dominate its habitat. Its stern gaze and alert eyes radiate self-confidence and vigilance, as if it is aware of every detail of its surroundings. Leopards often seek refuge in trees, either to rest or to protect their prey from other predators. The leopard on the tree embodies both calmness and ready aggression, a perfect symbiosis of beauty and ferocity.

Lewa arrived at the AfriCat Foundation in the Okonjima Game Reserve in Namibia as a 5-year-old, tame, hand-reared leopard and could therefore never be released back into the wild.
Her mother was shot by trophy hunters on a farm in north-west Namibia when they realised that the leopard was about to give birth. Thanks to a farmer, at least Lewa's life was saved.
