Hidden from view by dense forestation, we found the abandoned ruins of Lennox Castle in Lennoxtown, near Glasgow.
The castle, designed by architect David Hamilton, was originally built for and occupied by John Lennox Kincaid and his family until it was requisitioned for use as a military hospital during the First World War. Later, it was used as a psychiatric hospital.
Most of the outer walls are still standing, but for how long? Nature is taking possession of it - you can see the trees growing on the roof and protruding from the walls.
