Landing Westland Lysander.
Registration: V9312.
Civil registration: G-CCOM.
The Westland Lysander was an aircraft used by the Royal Air Force during World War II. The aircraft was developed and manufactured by Westland Aircraft.
The aircraft could use short runways, making it suitable for covert missions over occupied Europe. It used small, improvised landing strips behind enemy lines to drop or retrieve agents.
Similar aircraft were named within the Royal Air Force after mythical or historical military leaders, in this case the Spartan admiral Lysander was chosen.
