This aircraft came from Fliegerhorst Buchel and is at Fliegerhorst Nörvenich for a long period due to conversion work.
IDS stands for InterDictor/Strike and means attack and interception fighter.
The companies and shareholders Leonardo (15%), BAE Systems (42.5%) and Airbus Defence and Space (42.5%) participate in Panavia which is based in Munich. The Tornado project is Europe's most successful military aircraft partnership to date. Nearly 1,000 Tornado's have been produced which have been delivered to the air forces of Germany, Italy, the UK and Saudi Arabia.
