Lamborghini Espada S1 is the successor of the famous Lamborghini Marzal, which used the stylistic elements of the Hexagon for the first time. The Lamborghini Marzal was built as a so-called concept car completely functional and ready to drive. Much more similar, however, is the Jaguar Pirana by Bertone (designed by Marcello Gandini, who also developed the styling of the Lamborghini Countach) from 1967, where the prototype of the Espada was later actually developed on the wooden model.
There was also a Lamborghini Faena from the early 1970s, which had been considered a finished study for a four-door hatchback coupé on Lamborghini Espade, but ultimately did not go into production, although Frua and Lamboghini exhibited it several times in 1978 and 1980.
