I stopped here without much thought. Something about the fence, the bare trees, and the snowy mountains quietly stacked in the background felt just right. The frame almost built itself—those trunks naturally formed a window. I didn’t have to do much but line it up and wait for the light to soften just a little.
What I like here is how the image layers itself: greenish grass in the front, a broken wooden fence running across like a pause, then dry fields and leafless trees, and finally those clean white peaks rising in the distance. The colors are subtle, but it’s the coolness of the blues and whites that gives the whole thing a sense of calm.
I shot this with a longer lens to flatten the space a bit, to make the mountains feel closer. It turned out more delicate than I expected, and I kind of like that. It’s a quiet image, but for me it holds everything I want to remember from that day.
