The Schmilkaer Kessel uphill from the eponymous village is a wide green valley, a dense forest nestled between high rock faces. Part of this formation are numerous climbing rocks and two of the most famous staircases of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains: the Rübezahlstiege and the Heilige Stiege in the Heringsgrund. Although you can't see the staircases from the Kipphorn, the view into and over the valleys is still phenomenal.
