This is one of my favorite pictures, in particular because of what lead to me taking the picture. This is a Kea; an endangered species of Parrot, indigenous to New Zealand. They are very curious and playful birds.
I took this picture while taking a break at a view point, just after the Homer Tunnel in Fiordland National Park. A flock of Kea's was clearly enjoying all the attention they got from the other people at the view point, until suddenly everyone left and five Kea's, deprived of attention, all started taking apart my car. pulling on the wind shield wipers, the mirrors and rubber trim. Surprised and alarmed, I rushed to save my car, but not before I took some close-ups. This Kea was not impressed by me at all and tried to have a go at my camera.
I quit my job in 2016 to go and travel for a year. I visited 14 countries. At the start of my trip I bought a professional camera and from that moment I got hooked on photography. I really never went anywhere without it.
