About the artwork

KLu's Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopter.

Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopter of the Royal Air Force practices on the heath near Oirschot (GLV-5).

Registration number of the helicopter is Q-16.

This photo was taken on 31 March 2017.

The Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopter was originally designed for taking out tanks and other (armoured) ground targets. In practice, its broad weapons package and advanced (observation) equipment make it very widely deployable.

The Royal Air Force uses the aircraft for various tasks such as:
acting as an armed scout, protecting ground troops and transport helicopters; disabling (armoured) ground targets, such as tanks, command and radar posts and artillery positions, escorting convoys and guarding and shielding areas.
