Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘Jumping whale in Hermanus in South Africa’ by Thea.Photo

Vertical photo of a jumping whale on the coast of Hermanus in South Africa. A lucky moment to see these magnificent animals from the wharf during sunrise. The view of the mountains with a Jacob's ladder was already stunning. When a young whale gave a jumping show, the picture was more than complete! What a wonderful moment, and a great start to the day!

Coastal town of Hermanus, South Africa, is located on the beautiful southern coast of the Western Cape and is known for seeing the impressive Southern Right Whales. Hundreds of whales can be seen here on the coast in early June to late November.

Hermanus can be considered the home of these whales. Every year around June, the whales arrive to breed, give birth and play. During this period they do not eat, but the adult whales live off their fat reserves.

In addition to the Southern Right Whale, humpback and Bryde's whales, as well as African penguins, Cape fur seals and dolphins can be seen in Hermanus.
