About the artwork

Jules Pascin's 1917 artwork "Southern landscape" shows a vivid and colourful scene of a southern landscape. The painting features various figures and animals in a village setting. On the left in the painting, a man with a moustache and a beret sits on a bench, while another man sits next to him with a cap and a scarf. In the centre of the painting, a black cat walks. To the right of the cat is a man in a suit and hat, who appears to be dancing or moving while looking at a woman in a dress who is talking to him. The background contains abstract shapes and colours suggesting a park-like setting. The artwork is interesting because of Pascin's loose, expressive style and the dynamic interaction between the figures.

Julius Mordecai Pinkas (Vidin, Bulgaria, 31 March 1885 - Paris, France, 20 June 1930) was a Bulgarian-American painter and draughtsman of mixed descent: his father was a Sephardic Jew, his mother was of Serbian-Italian origin. Pascin's work, which is sometimes counted as expressionism, includes portraits and mostly erotic-tinged and satirical pictures, characterised by intermingling delicate colour shades.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
