Jetty at Steendam on the Schildmeer during sunset - long exposure and serenity by KB Design & Photography (Karen Brouwer)

This atmospheric landscape photo of a jetty at Steendam on the Schildmeer lake was captured during a warm sunset and exudes peace, space and balance. The temperature was not warm... brr. Rather wintry. The use of long exposure made the water completely smooth, creating a serene and almost meditative look. The wooden jetty forms a strong, natural line that guides the eye towards the horizon and gives depth to the image.

The sky subtly colours in shades of gold, orange and purple, while the elongated clouds take on a soft and picturesque effect. This interplay of light, water and sky makes the photo timeless and versatile. The Schildmeer, located in the Groningen countryside near Steendam, comes into its own here as a place of silence and relaxation.

This photo is perfect as wall decoration in a living room, office, meeting room or practice. Thanks to its calm colours and minimalist composition, the image fits effortlessly into modern, Scandinavian and industrial interiors. At large size, the depth effect of the scaffolding and the soft air textures stand out even more.

Whether you are looking for a soothing statement on the wall or a professional-looking landscape photo with Dutch appeal, this image of the Schildmeer offers a calm, high-quality atmosphere that will captivate for a long time.
