A composition of poppy flowers illuminated by sunlight on old-fashioned photographic paper. This technique, which allows light and time to literally penetrate the material, reveals unexpected colours and textures - from warm yellows and ochres to subtle shades of red-brown and purple-grey.
The transparency of the petals allows for a refined drawing through: the edges become visible as graphic lines, almost like a botanical etching. The print is unfixed but carefully digitised.
