Iceland is known for its waterfalls. The Godafoss waterfalls in northern Iceland (near Akureyri) are one of the most beautiful in the country. Because of its horseshoe shape, the water seems to come from all sides and you are right in the middle of it.
For this photo, I chose to descend to the river into which the falls flow (the Skjálfandafljót river). This makes the falls look even more powerful and impressive, as you can see the height of the 12m high falls even better, and the sky even more dramatic and rugged. Because of the foam on the river, you can even almost hear the power of the water through the photo!
