In the golden glow of the morning sun, the monk sits motionless before the awe-inspiring figure of Phra Buddha Chinnarat. His saffron-coloured robe glows in the soft light that filters through the high windows of Wat Benchamabophit. A deep silence fills the marble temple, broken only by the soft rustling of the wind as it brushes across the stone floor.
The Buddha statue, sublime in its Bhumispara mudra, epitomises the moment of enlightenment - the hand touches the earth as a witness to awakening. Light plays around the features of the statue, making it appear alive, as if Buddha himself were gazing at the meditator with gentle compassion.
Here, in this sacred atmosphere, time does not seem to exist. The monk, absorbed in his meditation, is one with the space, with the wisdom of Buddha, with the luminous moment. It is a moment of deep contemplation, silence and truth. The mind becomes wide, free from everything that passes away. Nothing remains - except the pure, clear presence of being.
