Size of the original work is 60 x 80 centimetres.
A (home-made) spinner was used. The centrifugal forces that occur when spinning cause the paint to flow outwards.
Work was done on canvas; the paint used is oil-based industrial paint. Silicone spray was used to keep the colours from mixing.
The title of this painting is Implosion. It is actually part of a diptych; but can of course also hang solo on the wall....
The other painting of this diptych is of course also on this site. It is entitled: Explosion. The two paintings are constructed the same way, with the same colours, but reversed in terms of colour order. In this painting (Implosion), we started with a base of white paint and the last layer of paint added is black. In ''Explosion'' the base is black and the last added paint is white. In terms of composition, the two paintings are thus a kind of unity.....
