About ‘Imagination’ by Caroline Boogaard

Behind every door, there is something new to discover. Multilayer photographic work, based on a corridor in a former monastery in Schwalmtal, Germany. The abandoned monastery with many places where light has free play, ensures that images can be combined. This creates a new representation of reality.

Original created by Caroline Boogaard.

I like to make multi-layered photographic work. By combining several photos in one image a new reality is created with often intense colours and new perspectives. The places where I collect the ingredients for the photographic work are places that at first don't look very attractive. That's what makes it so much fun for me - looking closely at 'hidden beauty' that sometimes only comes to the fore when the images are mixed.
