The botters of the town of Huizen tell a story of their own. In the botter yard, botters are brought back to life, after which they go out onto the Gooimeer. In December, at Christmas and around New Year's Eve, the lights on the masts and sails go on. A beautiful picture you can only make like this a few times a year with perfectly calm and still water in the harbour. From a jetty in the middle of the harbour, I took this photo, which also beautifully reflects the illuminated lime kilns. The bow of the boat in the foreground leads you to the scene in the distance. A photo with fine lines and delicate lights in a black background. It will give a nice contrast on softly toned or white walls.
I am amazed every time I go into nature, and I want to convey that with power in my photos. Not only nature itself, but also how humans have managed to integrate their heritage in it. Wonder and strength, these are my photography principles that I like.. Read more…
