This photo of the beautiful mountain village was taken shortly after sunset during the so-called blue hour with a long exposure.
Castelmezzano is a southern Italian municipality in the province of Potenza in Basilicata, just 25 kilometres south-east of the city of Potenza. The mountain village in the Lucanian Dolomites is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy (Borghi più Belli d'Italia).
The Lucane Dolomites are a mountain range in the Italian region of Basilicata and part of the Lucane Apennines. The mountains in the Lucane Dolomites reach an altitude of around 1400 metres. The Dolomiti Lucane are a popular destination for hiking and nature exploration.
The most popular activity in the Lucane Dolomites is one of the longest zip lines in Europe. A gorge stretches between Castelmezzano and the neighbouring village of Pietrapertosa, over which two one and a half kilometre long steel cables are stretched. This attraction has the beautiful name "Angel's Flight".
