About the artwork

Iceland landscape in the Múlagljúfur canyon with grass and moss covered rocks and the Hangandifoss waterfall coming down from the glacier in the background near Hof on the South coast of Iceland.

Múlagljúfur Canyon is a stunning natural wonder located in southern Iceland, near the town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

The canyon features towering rock formations, deep ravines, and stunning waterfalls. The walls of the canyon are made of volcanic rock and are often covered in vibrant green moss, which creates a striking contrast against the dark rock. The canyon is also home to a river that flows through it, adding to the beautiful scenery.

Visitors to the canyon can hike along the trails that run through the area, with opportunities to see a number of impressive waterfalls, including the Foss á Múlafossi waterfall, which drops over 30 meters into a pool below. The canyon is also known for its wildlife, with a variety of birds and other animals that can be spotted throughout the area.

Overall, the Múlagljúfur Canyon is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Iceland, with its unique geological features and breathtaking natural beauty.
