A special photo of a special flower!
The flowers of this hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Libelle') are different from the bulbous flowers of the common hydrangea plant.
At the edge of the flower are so-called umbels and in the centre appear small flowers that open only minimally.
The large umbels on the sides contrast nicely with the small flowers in the centre. That's what makes this hydrangea flower so special.
The soft pink flowers on the sides turn orange-brown over the course of the summer. The small flowers in the centre are a beautiful purple with upright stamens in yellow with turquoise. This combined with the green leaves makes the plant a colourful sight.
Hydrangeas are plants that used to grow particularly near the living quarters of farms. They were also called farmers' hydrangeas.
This inspired me to give this flower a rural look. To do this, I mixed two photos: one of the hydrangea flower and the other of an old slate. The rough structure of this stone and the pattern on it create the rural atmosphere in this photo. This gives the flower artwork an old look, as if it were an old photo that may have been stored away in a shoebox somewhere for a long time.
An artwork of nature with a rustic atmosphere!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
