With broad wings, the male hen harrier glides low over the field. His grey feathers catch the light, his flight is silent and confident. Suddenly, in the middle of that graceful passing, he turns his head and looks straight into the lens. A piercing gaze, sharp and alert, as if to say, "I see you too."
For a split second, man and bird meet - a silent confrontation between the freedom of the sky and the wonder of the one watching. Then he flies on, absorbed in the space where he is at home.
