Young foxes spend much of the day alone in and around their burrow, while the parents are busy gathering food. When the parents (including this mother fox) return, the young foxes, welcome them enthusiastically. When the prey, such as a mouse or a goose egg, is gulped down, there is still some time to show gratitude to the mother by rubbing firmly against her.
