This is a photo that I’ve taken in the main room of a beautiful abandoned villa. The villa, built in the early 17th century, has an amazing terrace from where you have a panorama view over the whole city. The location of the villa, strategically on top of a hill, was chosen by the owner in an attempt to escape the plague epidemic. At worst, almost a third of the inhabitants of the city died in one year due to this epidemic. The villa has changed ownership between some of the most influential and historical families. Each family added a little something to the villa. Because of that, different architectural styles have been combined in the villa.
