Hotel L'Ecran in Honfleur, France. Honfleur is an old port city in France.
The hotel is a typical 19th century villa with shutters and high ceilings and lots of charm.
We stayed there and the light fell so beautifully on the facade in the morning, I instantly sat down in on the ground in the courtyard to make this drawing in oil pastel.
Every time I look at it it gives me a warm summer feeling. It doesn't really matter where the villa is. It could also be on the Mediterranean .

The original is drawn on brown paper at A4 size. When I paint or draw plein air I always have different colors of paper or panel with me so that I can choose the material that suits the subject best.
