"Mankje" is a vulnerable and quirky character from the world of Herman Ketz.
The artist says of him:

His name is Mankje.
He doesn't want help, from anyone.
His name is Mankje.

In this work, that stubborn softness becomes tangible.
The figure looks away from the viewer, caught in his own world between colour fields of ochre, red and green. With rough lines, etched structures and unusual shapes, Mankje takes on an almost sculptural presence - both strong and fragile.

The result is an intriguing mix of humour, melancholy and character. A work that doesn't explain everything, but lingers.

Herman Ketz (Enschede) is a draughtsman, graphic artist, sculptor and assemblage artist. After years as a self-taught artist, he followed the evening course at the AKI in Enschede from 1993 to 1997. His work is characterised by the reuse of old materials: used etching plates, wood and metal form the basis for new sculptures. What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
