About ‘Protection of population’ by Herman Ketz

In this work, two human figures are juxtaposed, separated by a vertical strip in which the image turns from light to intense red. The figures seem to reach out to each other but remain at a distance - a tension that radiates both vulnerability and strength.

The etching is composed of multiple plate impressions, scratches and layers that overlap. This raw texture gives the work an alternative, almost underground feel that is strongly reminiscent of the experimental art scene of the 1990s, where body, identity and touch were central themes.

The combination of subtle graphite lines, rich colour areas and imperfection makes this a layered and intriguing image. A work that invites longer viewing, as it keeps revealing new traces, words and movements.

His work is characterised by the reuse of old materials: used etching plates, wood and metal form the basis for new sculptures. At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
