About ‘Heather in bloom at Kale Duinen (Aaekeringerzand) near Elsloo/Appelscha’ by R Smallenbroek
After a long drought in the summer of ’26 and a few days of heavy showers, the flowering heather has turned a lovely shade of purple after all.
The photo shows a path leading to the Kale Duinen, with trees in the background and a dark, grey, ominous sky. It is just after sunset.

Started analogue as a hobby photographer, then let go for years and already passionately photographing for years now. Not a day goes by that I am not busy with photography and can not imagine a life without it. It is wonderful to be able to share the beauty that I see and experience and wonderful when others experience the same when seeing the image. I am mainly concerned with landscape photography where the key word is atmosphere!
