There are many harbour canals on Goeree Overflakkee, which meander through the landscape until they reach a harbour. These canals connect the open water with the harbours of the villages that are further inland. Through these canals, it is still possible for the shipping industry to unload cargo in the villages. Nowadays these harbour canals are not used anymore for cargo transport because the ships are too big and have too much draught.
I was born on Goeree Overflakkee and there are beautiful nature reserves to photograph such as the Kwade Hoek and the Slikken van Flakkee. I love to travel and try to capture both the culture and nature of distant countries photographically.
