Hans Eijkenaar (Schiedam, July 18, 1963) is a Dutch drummer, in addition to playing percussion, piano, vibraphone and classical. percussion He is also active as an arranger, composer and producer.
Eijkenaar began playing drums at age twelve and took lessons from classical percussionist Toon Oomen, who brought him into contact with jazz. This was followed by a course at the conservatory in Rotterdam, where he stopped after a year because his schedule had become too busy. After a few years of touring with various jazz bands, he moved on to pop and rock via studio work. He has accompanied various artists such as Candy Dulfer, Robby Valentine, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Rob de Nijs, Hans de Booij, René Froger, Herman Brood, Thijs van Leer, Toots Thielemans and Anouk.
He was part of the Dutch band Kayak around 2011, then left again, but rejoined in December 2018 after the then drummer and Kayak broke up. Concerts were still planned to promote the album Seventeen.
