Gullfoss, the golden waterfall flowing in the Hvitá, the white river. Sometimes details are better than the whole. The waterfall collapses in two steps that are almost at right angles to each other more than 22 meters down. The splashing mist often conjures up a rainbow. The waterfall owes its name to this rainbow.
