The photo shows a groyne in the Baltic Sea. The long exposure lends the scene a special atmosphere: the Baltic Sea appears like a gentle veil that makes the waves disappear and emphasises the vastness of the sea.
The groyne itself consists of wooden trunks whose structure is clearly recognisable.
These groynes have an important function: they act as breakwaters and protect the coast from erosion and storm surges. Their arrangement allows the sand to be deposited behind them, thus stabilising the coastline.
A harmonious interplay of nature and human intervention - captured in this impressive image.

Welcome to my shop. I'm Christian and I've been taking pictures since about 2015. I like the light and the quietness of the morning and evening hours and try to capture them in my pictures.
My pictures are taken on trips, day hikes or right in front of my door...
