About ‘Great horned owl’ by Diane Jordan

The barred owl is a large owl characterised by its striking facial veil and long feathered ears (which look like "beards"), hence the name "barred owl". Their plumage is mostly grey-brown, with dark spots and stripes that camouflage them well in their woodland habitat. Their facial veil is particularly distinctive, which helps with sound perception and improves their vision of prey. The tawny owl is widespread in the northern regions of Europe, Asia and North America. In Europe, it is found in the boreal forests, especially in Scandinavia and Russia. In Germany, the tawny owl is a rare guest and is considered to be highly endangered. The tawny owl prefers to live in old, extensive forests with dense tree cover and a high proportion of conifers. This owl likes remote mountain slopes or regions with many swamps and wetlands. The bearded owl is a nocturnal hunter and mainly hunts smaller mammals such as mice, rats and sometimes smaller birds. Like many owls, the tawny owl hunts silently, as its feathers are specially optimised for silent flight.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
