About ‘Graphic lotus flowers on a dark background’ by Lina van Oers

A collection of stylised lotus flowers comes together to form a colourful pattern. Every flower is different. Some are fully open, whilst others consist of just a few simple petals. Blue, lilac, pink, white, green and orange stand out vividly against the dark background.

The composition has a playful arrangement. The flowers are scattered across the surface without any clear rows or symmetry. This keeps your gaze moving. At the same time, all the shapes are so simple that the whole remains calm. Large circles form the centres of the flowers, whilst the petals consist of rounded geometric shapes.

This style of drawing gives the work a distinct Bauhaus and mid-century feel. Yet the floral motif ensures that the image remains friendly and accessible. The result is a work of art that feels both graphic and botanical.

The dark background makes the colours stand out even more. This means this print looks lovely on a light-coloured wall, but also works surprisingly well against dark furniture or deep shades of green. In a modern living room, it can add a playful touch. In a creative workspace, it brings extra colour and rhythm.
