Graceful and elegant – A play of lines with droplets by Marjolijn van den Berg

This photo: "Sierlijk en elegant - Lijnenspel met druppels" is a macro photograph of the beautiful wings of a dragonfly (a small section of them). There are lots of tiny water droplets clinging to the wings, so small that I could barely make them out with the naked eye. On the background, which reflects a blue–petrol–turquoise colour, there are lots of water droplets, which make the background sparkle and create a lovely effect.
Because I opted for a shallow depth of field when taking the photo, only a few water droplets and a small section of the wings are in focus. This creates a natural sense of calm in the photo and lends a feeling of depth to the image. If you zoom in on the photo, you’ll see what I mean!
Thanks to the elegant, graceful look of this photo, which feels almost abstract, it suits many different interior styles and trends. Think, for example, of a modern, minimalist interior, or perhaps something more rustic or Japandi.
This photograph could, for instance, be a real eye-catcher as wallpaper in the hall, on an ArtFrame or canvas above the sofa in the living room, or mounted on aluminium or behind acrylic glass in the bedroom!
(It would, of course, also look stunning in business spaces, such as a waiting room, meeting room or office).
