The Eurofighter Typhoon (Eurofighter EFA 2000) is a fighter aircraft designed and built by a European consortium.
Development of the original Eurofighter 2000 project took place with support from the governments of Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, France and Spain, but in 1985 France withdrew from the project due to a disagreement over production sharing and operational requirements.
The first Eurofighter Typhoons were delivered in 2003. The aircraft are used by the air forces of Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Austria and Oman, among others.
