About "Gateway to the Past"

About the artwork

This vertical photograph shows an iconic and historic scene: the famous treasure chamber of Petra in Jordan, partially visible between the narrow, red-coloured rock walls of the Siq - the narrow gorge that leads to this archaeological treasure. The image was taken from the shadow of the gorge, creating a dramatic contrast between the dark rock in the foreground and the sunlit, pale pink sandstone facade of the temple in the background.

The facade of the monumental building is richly decorated with columns, reliefs and statues characteristic of classical Nabataean architecture. The composition is carefully chosen: the temple is partially framed by the rock walls, evoking a sense of discovery - as if the viewer is in a moment of revelation. The texture of the rock is clearly visible, with natural grooves, colour variations and smooth erosion patterns underlining the ancient character of this site.

Warm colour tones of red, orange and pink dominate the scene, enhanced by the soft light falling along the gorge. The photograph exudes mysticism, wonder and historical depth. It invites you to go further, deeper into history, along the ancient paths of one of the wonders of the world.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
