I wanted to invite the viewer to reflect on what lies beyond the horizon, or what this gateway might mean in their own lives.

The mood I am trying to set is one of calm, contemplation and a touch of introspection. It is a calming image that is simultaneously thought-provoking. The black and white enhances the focus on the shapes and light, and gives the work a timeless quality. For me, this image represents the possibilities that lie behind every 'gate' in life.
