I photographed this gannet on the small island of Helgoland. It was the second time I visited the island. It was already later in the evening and most photographers had disappeared. The sun was about to set. I walked back once more to the bird colony on the edge of the cliff. The orange-yellow light reflected in the sea. Beautiful moment and I looked for a position where the head of bird came in front of the sunlight. The orange colour of the head is reflected in the colour of the setting sun. The blue border around the eye pops out.
