About "Funeral Feast Procession Bali"

About the artwork

Around thirty years ago I was lucky enough to spend a month in Bali, Indonesia. During our stay, my partner and I were invited to attend a funeral! It might not be everyone's idea of a holiday activity of course but we jumped at the chance. Balinese funeral ceremonies are huge festivals involving the whole village and, following the cremation, conclude with a huge feast. The event was loud, chaotic and fascinating to watch. A senior person in the village had died and at the same time as he was being cremated some of the poorer village dead were also included. One of them had died some time ago and been buried awaiting the chance to be cremated when funds became available.

This was a huge celebration, with a lot of religious significance of course, but the fact that the whole village was involved made it something special for us as foreigners to take part in.

This is a photo art image based on a photograph I took at the time. A procession of people, many carrying food in baskets on their heads, heading along a trail towards the communal eating area.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
