The Boeing 727 was a popular T-tail jet aircraft from Boeing with three engines, two placed at the rear of the fuselage and one in the tail. It was the best-selling jet aircraft for a long time until it was surpassed by the Boeing 737. A total of 582 100-series 727's and 1294 200-series 727's were built, making the Boeing 727 one of the most successful commercial aircraft ever. The first 727 flew in 1964 and production ended in 1984.
