One night of frost and the landscape changes completely: the roads become white and slippery, car windows take on ice flowers, colours are softly muted and many objects are given a small layer of ice or beautiful white edge. The world suddenly looks a little more beautiful and friendly!
When the temperature drops and frost is predicted, you hope you have no obligations that day. It is so nice to enjoy this new world. It feels wonderfully fresh and it is also beautiful to look at. But to photograph all this beauty, you have to be quick. After all, frost doesn't come around too often, and besides, this white world often disappears quickly again.
So on the first frost day of this winter, I went straight out. I didn't have to go far to take this photo. Right next to my front door was this pile of fallen autumn leaves. And how beautiful they were now with this little sugar border! All the different shapes and veins were extra easy to see. The combination of the cool blue-grey colour and the warm red-brown made the photo extra successful. At least that's what I think!
