Cyanotype print (or blueprint) of a photo I made on the Dutch coast: a strong, lonesome crow flying above a rough sea.
While painting the paper with light-sensitive emulsion, I sprinkled baking soda into the composition, creating a sense of violently crashing waves. After the emulsion had dried into the paper, I placed the photo negative on top of it and illuminated the work with a sun canopy, so that under the influence of UV light the light-sensitive emulsion turned blue.
A graphic, poetic artwork with a melancholic atmosphere. Made by hand using an old photographic technique. I have captured the end result in high quality with my professional camera. It is suitable for large format. The fibers of the handmade paper are visible, which gives it a vintage look. The work fits nicely in a modern and / or vintage interior.
