These four faded tulips are part of a long-term art project. The chosen composition is a fixed factor in this project. In March 2018 I placed the four tulips on a screen printing frame. In order to fix the chosen composition I temporarily placed stones on it. These stones come from Wales, found 35 years ago. Stacked together they form a small tower. With my camera on a tripod I made a series of photos right above the composition. I chose one of them. The photo has been cropped so that the metal edge of the screen printing frame is no longer visible. In photoshop I then further edited the image. I put the screen printing frame with the tulips that had blossomed away for a long time. In the summer of 2018 it was time for the next experiment: pouring this composition (without stones) on the silkscreen frame filled with casting resin. I completed the work of art in March 2019. I have included the whole story in the form of a 'recipe' in this newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/e72b97a547eb/een-recept-voor-giethars-tulpen-kunstwerk.
